Nas Leads The Revolution With 620,000 Others

On July 23, 2008, Nas and the help of Move On and Color of Change, were able to get over 600,000 signatures on a petiton to send to Fox news. The petition was formed with intentions of shutting down Fox news for "attacks on Black Americans and labeling Michelle Obama, Barack’s baby mama.” Nas also claims Bill O’Reilly is racist for saying such things as we should throw Michelle Obama a “lynching party.” Needless to say, Fox news was not open to give any response and did not accept the petition. Funny man, Steven Colbert excepted them instead and had Nas on the show to talk about the situation. Here is some footage of Nas at the rally:

Nas on The Colbert Report:

We Still Missing You: Ol' Dirty!!!

This is a classic song from the one and only Ol' Dirty Bastard called Brooklyn Zoo. If you're not familiar with this track get with the program! Ol' Dirty was a original hip-hop legend by simply creating a whole new style of music. He was hated and loved but at the end of the day he was dirty...We miss you fam! WU-TANG!

Largest Howard Freshman Class EVER!!!

If you know about Howard University then you know that the girl-to-boy ratio is unusually different compared to other universities. In the past years it was said to be 9 girls to every 1 boy on campus but there is some shocking news about this upcoming freshman class of '12. While previous freshman classes excepted around 800 students every year, this year it seems that 1700 freshman students will be attending Howard in the fall! And if that was enough of a shocker, 1300 of the freshman will be females!!! That is somewhere around a 20-to-1 ratio! Some say that this change in intake is due to the replacement of ex-Howard president, Pat Swygert, and the decision of the newly instated president, Dr. Sidney A. Ribeau. If you are a young black male in America, please start to take education more seriously!!! These numbers are amazing! If nothing else guides your way to higher education...go for the girls! (Looks Fun!)

We see you Pinks!

New Jeezy & Kanye Video: I Put On

Jeezy

The Feminie Scarf... Please Don't.

Fellas, fellas, fellas... I don't know whats wrong with these dudes and their scarves that they find in the womens section at Macy's! The season for scarves has long been gone yet I see so called men flaunting these larger than life bibs all over the summer! My one true goal is to alert heterosexual males that when they wear a feminine scarf they look like a homosexual! Now if that's the lifestyle you choose to live that's fine, it's a free country, but understand that if people ridicule you for looking ridiculous, you brought it on yourself. Understand that the winter is over and because Kanye West made it a fad that doesn't mean you should continue to make yourself uncomfortable by rocking a "bib" in 90 degrees weather. So in conclusion, this is a personal plea for niggas who look feminine rocking scarves that they purchased in the womens section in Macy's to stop. Being a male on Howard's campus put us in the same category as them and we are not cut from the same cloth...or in this situation, scarf. Thank you and God Bless.

Lucky Seven: The Best Kept Secret

Howhood University's first artist, Lucky Seven, has released an album mixtape titled, The Best Kept Secret, which is also the first project released under the independent label. With production from Matt Cody, 1000 Alan Jones, Jahi-Chambers, and more, this mixtape is a sure breath of fresh air among the rest of this eras hip-hop acts. BKS has hit songs such as, Friday, The Crackhouse, & My Women. LS claims that the main purpose for this project was give the public an idea of his "song structure capabilities" and "versatility." With concepts such as the fan favorite, Shorty On The Side, where he paints a picture of a relationship gone bad, and I Don't Care, three different perspectives of people living in U.S.A ghettos. This is a very compelling piece of artwork and it is the first project released from Lucky Seven, so cop this one today!
