Nas Leads The Revolution With 620,000 Others

On July 23, 2008, Nas and the help of Move On and Color of Change, were able to get over 600,000 signatures on a petiton to send to Fox news. The petition was formed with intentions of shutting down Fox news for "attacks on Black Americans and labeling Michelle Obama, Barack’s baby mama.” Nas also claims Bill O’Reilly is racist for saying such things as we should throw Michelle Obama a “lynching party.” Needless to say, Fox news was not open to give any response and did not accept the petition. Funny man, Steven Colbert excepted them instead and had Nas on the show to talk about the situation. Here is some footage of Nas at the rally:

DJ K-Swift Died In Swimming Pool

Khia "K-Swift" Edgerton, one of Baltimore, Maryland's most popular DJ, died early today (July 21) after a pool accident in her home.

The 29-year-old, was apparently throwing a party at her house Sunday evening into early this morning, according to the Baltimore Sun. Police believe that she may have been drinking but the cause of death is still unknown.

Reports say that during the party, the DJ jumped into her pool with several other people, but did not come up after a long period. After some time, her friends pulled her out of the pool, and called 911.

When paramedics arrived, Edgerton was said to be breathing, but very slow. She was pronounced dead soon after her arrival to Good Samaritan Hospital.

K-Swift was known to listeners of WERQ-FM 92.3 as the "Club Queen," and helped introduce the younger generation to Baltimore's club scene. She worked for the radio station for 10 years, where she eventually became the only female in the country to hold the title of Female Mix Show Coordinator. K-Swift was a very respected DJ on the East Coast and she will be highly missed wherever her music was heard, and wherever she went. To find more information about K-Swift visit, clubqueenkswift.com.
